Italy = Horses Stolen

This is yet another sad Italian story. Mafia and stealing horses seem to take Italy and especially Naples to the old times when beasts were stolen in America in the times of the cowboys.

After that 2years ago the Italian Stallion Daguet Rapid owned by French Trainer and Owner Jean Pierre Dubois was stolen, another Italian Stallion passes the same experience.

This time around it is Italian super 5 year old stallion 'Iglesias' (by Ganymede) who was reported stolen from a specialised center in Naples where he was being treated for a tendon injury. As on the occasion of many famous Italion stallions which were stolen, Iglesias was stolen just 2 weeks after his sperm count test proved he is a good horse for breeding. Iglesias won Euro250,000 up till now and is considered as the new Varenne after that he won 5 consecutive Grand Prix. However lately he encountered some tendon problems which gave a blow to his racing carrer.

Iglesias is estimed to be worth Euro 2,000,000 and is owned by Sergio Carfagnia. His owner, which stated that the stallion was not yet insured, fears Iglesias was taken to some Eastern country for breeding and is fearing not seeing his stallion again.

Finally IGLESIAS the Italian 5 year old Stallion was returned to his owner. In fact he was found tied to a gate on the morning of the 4th June 2009 after that he was stolen on the night between the 25 and 26th March. This stallion is considered to be the Heir of Varrenne in Italy and he was in a recovery center where he was trying to get back to racing for after 2 tendon rapture injuries suffered.

This goes on to add itself to the positive ending of the stolen one-eye blind stallion Equinox Bi, who was stolen after returning to Italy just days after he won the Breeders Crown in USA. Equinox Bi has been returned to the USA for safety reason by the Biazuzzi Family.

Still to find are other 3 Italian Stallions which were stolen in the last 3 years, namely : LEMON DRA (king of Itlaian Stallions), DAGUET RAGPID (the Franco-Itlaian stallion owned by Jean Pierre Dubois) and FOREVER RUNNER.

Daguet Rapide the famoust Dubois stallion which was kidnapped in Italy in June last year was found today running freely on the beach at Pozzuoli.

From the first information given it seems that the stallion is in good condition.
